Cloud-Based IT Management App Shortlisted for "Business IT Innovation of the Year"

LONDON – Knowledge10 EMEA ‑ Sept. 14, 2010 ‑ Service‑, the creator of modern software‑as‑a‑service (SaaS) for IT service management, today announced it has been shortlisted for the prestigious UK IT Industry awards in the category of "Business IT Innovation of the Year." The awards are organised by the British Computer Society (BCS) in association with Computing magazine.

The UK IT Industry awards are the benchmark for excellence throughout the computer industry and recognize the contributions of individuals, projects, organisations and technologies that have advanced information technology during the past 12 months.

The Service‑ ITSM suite is designed to tackle service management challenges that, until recently, have been too complex to realistically address with software developed decades ago.

"Being shortlisted as a finalist in the UK IT Industry awards is a fantastic achievement," says Chris Gomersall, Service‑ VP of EMEA sales. "Businesses increasingly require more IT flexibility. Service‑ is harnessing the powerful simplicity and elasticity of the cloud and is delivering it to our rapidly growing customer base of enterprise IT organizations."

David Clarke, CEO of the BCS, said, "Congratulations to all the finalists. They can be proud of their achievements. Their projects and work showcase the professionalism that exists among IT professionals and also highlights the value of IT today and the way it touches so many areas of society."

Robin Booth, Publishing Director of Computing magazine, said, "I would like to add my congratulations to the finalists. The UK IT Industry Awards are rigorously judged and to be announced as finalist is a great achievement. I don't envy the judges who now have to decide the winners; it's going to be very tough."
