Named Finalist for itSMF UK Innovation of the Year Award

LONDON – Oct. 27, 2009 ‑ Service‑, the pioneer of modern SaaS for IT service management, today announced it is a finalist for the 2009 itSMF UK Innovation of the Year award. Service‑ is the first vendor to deliver a powerful, yet simple IT service management application to the enterprise IT market.

Service‑ is a finalist for the award based on a demonstration of:

  • Indicators of success and relevance
  • Obvious creative thinking and clearly innovative features
  • Evidence to support the relevance of the innovation including customer testimonials and take‑up figures
  • Detailed innovation benefit realisation including ROI analysis

Service‑ is on a mission to change the status quo by removing the enormous burden placed on IT organizations by old technology and legacy software business practices. Service‑ recently announced record growth based on rapid market adoption of this modern approach to IT service management.

Service‑ takes inspiration from the powerful usability and simplicity of modern, Web‑based consumer apps from Google, eBay and and applies these principles to an enterprise IT service desk application. A modern SaaS application allows Service‑ to focus all development efforts on the current release and future functionality. Service‑ customers simply receive new features through an automated upgrade process that preserves the customer's existing customizations to the application.

Chris Gomersall, Service‑ VP of EMEA sales and services, said, "Business requirements and IT processes have evolved while legacy IT service management software has remained the same. Enterprise IT deserves better, which is why we are on a mission to provide IT service organizations with a better tool. The era of old software that is impossible to implement, difficult to use and costly to maintain is coming to a close."

The Innovation of the Year award winner will be announced at the itSMF UK awards dinner on Nov. 9.
