ServiceNow and UXC Keystone selected to provide the platform for the NSW Government's GovDC Marketplace

New ‘one‑stop‑shop’ to connect Government agencies and ICT vendors like never before.

SYDNEY, Australia – 3 August, 2016 – ServiceNow (NYSE: NOW) the enterprise cloud company, today announced that it has been selected by the NSW Department of Finance, Services and Innovation (DFSI), in conjunction with UXC Keystone, to provide the primary platform for the NSW Government’s new GovDC Marketplace.

The marketplace creates a ‘one‑stop‑shop’ where Government agencies can enquire about and procure the services of approved ICT vendors, and it standardises the way that these services are engaged and consumed.

The project will utilise UXC Keystone’s ‘KeySite’ product for the CMS requirement, and leverage ServiceNow’s Service Catalog functionality for the Vendor Services requirement. Approved vendors are able to market their services and self‑manage the services they offer to the agencies.

Government agencies using the portal will also be able to track and report on services requested and have full visibility and auditability of interactions with vendors in the GovDC Marketplace.

“To improve service quality, all Government agencies are required to migrate to GovDC by August, 2017. This consolidation will mean a significant reduction in ICT service costs, and the GovDC Marketplace will connect agencies and suppliers in a way never before possible,” said Pedro Harris, Executive Director of Government Technology Platforms at DFSI.

“The ServiceNow platform has provided us with a solution that allows us to facilitate a connection between agencies and vendors to provide a secure service delivery portal in a way that offers best value for taxpayer’s money,” Mr Harris added.

The NSW Government’s ICT transformation began in 2012 when it adopted an entirely new approach to the use of information and communications technology.

This project, with its new ‘ICT‑as‑a‑service’ approach involved the consolidation of 130 data centres into two, world‑class data centres, based in Silverwater and Wollongong and the transition of 160 Government agencies. The new data centres will support this new approach to buying and using ICT services, and allow large and small agencies to access ICT‑as‑a‑Service without major capital expenditure.

The GovDC Marketplace is designed to extend GovDC beyond simply a state‑of‑the‑art data centre. Approved vendors with access to the marketplace are able to offer Government agencies a wide range of services, on and off premise via GovDC Cloudconnect, and agencies can purchase these services with the confidence that issues such as security, technical standards, procurement policies and data sovereignty have all been addressed.

“This project really exemplifies the versatility of the ServiceNow platform and the speed at which our solution can be implemented across a complex, multi‑tenant environment,” said David Oakley, Managing Director, ANZ, ServiceNow.

“As a business we look forward to being part of the innovation that this new service will provide to Government agencies and the benefits that will ultimately flow to customers,” Oakley added.

“It’s been a pleasure to work with an innovative Government department, with an appetite to embrace technology and the ambition to transform the way all of NSW Government procures and consumes approved ICT services across GovDC Marketplace,” said Joss Keep, Business Development Manager, UXC Keystone.

“Leveraging KeySite for an enhanced user experience and the power of the ServiceNow platform, UXC Keystone have accelerated DFSI’s time to value. We look forward to supporting the Department, their marketplace service providers and other NSW agencies in subsequent phases to deliver seamless process automation and orchestration,” Keep concluded.

The GovDC Marketplace will continue to grow as more agencies demand more services and as ICT service providers seek to build their businesses by expanding offerings
