1. What is the CreatorCon Challenge?

A developer competition that awards investment funding and significant marketing and business development benefits to the winners. We are seeking out new apps from early‑stage startups that leverage the power of the ServiceNow Platform that will push the boundaries of what is possible and unleash developer creativity that benefits our worldwide enterprise customer base.

 

2. Who can enter?

Your company must meet the following criteria:

  • Application stack must be built on the ServiceNow Platform
  • Total cash funding received to date must be less than $2 million
  • Independent legal entity
  • Comply with the official rules
  • The entity’s primary business is the delivery of subscription software (SaaS)
  • Create a ServiceNow account for entry submission and access to premium technical support resources

 

3. How will the entries be judged?

There will be a 3‑phase judging process.

Phase 1

A shortlist will be selected based on submission quality during the submission window as determined by an internal ServiceNow panel. The minimum submission is a 2‑minute video that outlines the business proposition (market opportunity, business problems solved, and compelling product differentiation) and a demonstrable beta version of your app for ServiceNow Helsinki or Istanbul release by the submission deadline. Participants are encouraged to enter early and update often so that ServiceNow may provide mentoring and guidance to optimize entries by the submission deadline. Additional supporting materials including slides, wireframes, mockups, business plans, whitepapers, etc. are welcomed.

Phase 2

Each shortlisted company will be video interviewed by an internal ServiceNow panel where they will pitch their business idea and demonstrate their app. Six finalists will be selected and will receive free travel and hotel for up to two company representatives to attend CreatorCon17 in Orlando, Florida.

Phase 3

Finalists will demonstrate their application in a dedicated pod in the Developer Hub at CreatorCon17 to Knowledge17 and CreatorCon17 attendees ‑ over 12,000 people attended Knowledge16 in Las Vegas. On Day 3 of CreatorCon17/Knowledge17, finalists will compete in the CreatorCon Challenge Live pitch‑off, on‑stage in front of a panel of ServiceNow customer CIOs and investor judges, immediately .  following the CreatorCon17/Knowledge17 Day 3 Keynote. Pitches will be judged on criteria that will be made available to all finalists prior to the event.

 

4. How does the investment work?

Winners will receive an investment from ServiceNow Ventures in the form of a SAFE (simple agreement for future equity) agreement. A SAFE is an instrument where the invested capital from ServiceNow Ventures will convert into equity upon raising a future institutional round of capital.

 

5. What is the App Launch Accelerator Kit?

A comprehensive and high‑value set of customer and ServiceNow sales facing benefits that will increase awareness and demand for your winning app. Examples include a ServiceNow press release announcing the winners andStore hero and featured slots.More details will be published in Q4.

 

6. What other awards are available?

The winning team will receive the CreatorCon Challenge Trophy, and a photo opportunity and an ServiceNow executive dinner including Pat Casey, SVP DevOps and leader of the Platform Business Unit at ServiceNow.

 

7. If I’m an existing ServiceNow Technology Partner, can I enter apps that I’ve already published to the Store, or that are in the certification process?

Apps must not have been submitted for first‑time certification on or prior to Sept 1st, 2016.

 

8. What other resources are available?

A private ServiceNow Developer Community subspace will be made available exclusively to CreatorCon Challenge participants that will be monitored and supported by the ServiceNow Platform & Developer evangelist team, who will provide technical support and coaching on app design and development.  Winners will also receive concierge‑level service from our certification team to fast‑track their app completion, certification, and publishing to the ServiceNow Store.

 

9. Is there a cost to participate?

There is no cost to submit an entry.
