Risk management is a top priority for the Business Continuity Program at GE Capital. Before ServiceNow, they were using a legacy IT system to inventory, analyze, and aggregate potential risks‑ threats ranging from hurricanes and nuclear disasters through to unplanned IT outages. The system was difficult to use, maintain and enhance. In just six weeks, the ITSM team developed a Risk Vulnerability Assessment Tool with ServiceNow that provides an easier method to quickly identify top risks and includes a capability to correlate data across location, risk type, frequency, and several other values. The IT team is delivering meaningful value to the business by improving the level of oversight, governance, and executive visibility in to the overall risk profile.
