Is there a way to create direct users to open kb article links according to context?

We've recently deployed Employee Center, and our leadership loves the look.
The challenge we are facing is that links embedded in knowledge articles either point to the original portal view or the view through employee center. Our question is if it is possible to have a context-sensitive link when we link to other articles. Presently, if the content creator works on the backend, the fastest way to collect the link to the KB article is to collect it from the portal. However, when a user launches the link through Employee Center, it takes them out of the EC experience and puts them into the portal experience. The opposite is true for our technicians.
We want to know if there is an OOTB solution to this, as we are avoiding further customizations.
Thanks,
Adam

@amarks Sounds like articles have just had links hardcoded to your now legacy Service Portal. Not much you can do here beside going through the task of updating all the historical links.

Dan, thanks for your response. The question is, how should we be referencing an article (or a number of articles, in the case of a hub article) without hard-coding the link? Can you give me the alternative?
The technician's view permalink is the following (which takes the viewer to the portal):
