fully loaded application cost for an given application

Hello Experts,

I just started to explore APM. while in the phase of understanding the module, I was asked these questions - "how do I capture the application cost of an application". May be this is heavy lifting question, but still try to understand this calculation from experts.

We have 3 major components today:

Business Application – Lives in APM
Application Service – Logical representation of a given Business App (Dev, Test, Prod – primarily)
Corresponding infrastructure (in this case we are trying to keep it simple and just look at Web Servers, App Servers, and Database Servers)

I am looking for something or somewhere like this,

Looking for something like this:

Business Application: Application 1 – Cost: $100.00
Application Service: application service – Cost: $0.00
Application/Web Server: Server 1 – Cost: $50.00
Application/Web Server: Server 2 – Cost: $50.00
Database Server: Server 3 – Cost: $50.00
Total Cost: $250.00

Is there any place to get this costs?

Our main way of bringing this data today is via integrations (like with Apptio or Proven Optics). WHile what you ask above might be achievable, it is not as easy to calculate costs, as you need to take into account many aspects like shared services, shared software and allocations.
