Examples of endpoint to test ServiceNow API access

Hello Community,

Does anyone have examples of composing a curl command and executing it on an instance that has access to
https://ourproductioninstance.service-now.com/?

I am only interested in read only endpoints and have an API key.

My questions are -

- What credentials do I require
- what is the auth procedure
- bare bones example using curl to auth and return a simple JSON blob
