How to restrict the access to add worknotes for a particular group

How can I allow access to add worknotes only for specific groups and for others it should not be visible in the worknote sections nor in the activity logs?

Use ACLs on the work notes field (read/write) with security attribute for 'is member of group'.

Just check on what is already there, because ITIL, for instance, already has access. If you want to limit that, you will need to update the existing ACLs as well (or, if you are on Xanadu) use deny-unless ACLs.

you can use field level READ and WRITE ACL for work notes field on your table

you can also use client script + Display BR to determine if logged in user is member of that group and if yes then hide the field

I would prefer ACL approach as it will ensure the field is hidden from all the places

In Xanadu, it working by using deny-unless, but I need this to use in other version what alternative can we use here, because for allow its not working.
