How do I get the full user admin role on my profile. I just got my personal SNow instance for training purposes via SNow website. I cannot add any new users, roles, or groups as no NEW button is shown. How do I get this access?

Hi @tcraig703347781,

As you mentioned you have got the instance for training purpose, you will have the admin role by default.

If you want to add role to any new users (on your PDI). First you need to create the user and then provided them the require roles.

You will not have 'New' button to create roles, as roles are already available OOB and you just need to add them to user.

Add roles to User:

Navigate to System Security --> Users and Groups --> Users.

Select the appropriate User and Open the record.

Scroll to the Roles tab, click on Edit

Select the roles from the left and move them to right.

Hi @tcraig703347781 ,

Please follow the below steps:

1. Login to the ServiceNow/SN developer site using the URL: https://developer.servicenow.com/dev.do

2. Click on the highlighted section as below:

3. Click on 'Change user role' and select 'admin'

Now, you will be logged in with 'System administrator' account which is having 'admin' role.

If you want to create another account and provide admin role to that, please follow the below steps:

1. In the filter navigator, search users and navigate to user administration > users, as shown below:

2. Open it and on the top right corner, new button will be visible, click on it

3. Fill out all the necessary details and save the form. Once done, scroll down to the same record and you will see a related list named 'roles'

Click on 'edit' button and provide the admin role and save it.

This will provide the access to the newly created user with admin role.

Note: It is not recommended to provide role directly to the user instead add role to a group and then add the user to the group.

Mark this as Helpful / Accept the Solution if this helps
