Hi SN Community,

We have an existing Platform Analytics Dashboard containing multiple data visualizations built on the Incident table.

Now, we’d like to introduce an Interactive Filter on this dashboard with the following requirements:

The filter should be single-select and populated with records from the Group [sys_user_group] table.

When a group is selected in the filter, the dashboard data should update to display only the Incidents where the Affected User is a member of the selected Group.

Could you please guide us on how to configure this in the Platform Analytics Dashboard?
Any examples, configuration steps, or best practices would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

M Sriram

Hi @Raghav Sharma24 ,

We were able to add the filter to the dashboard. However, the concern is about the configuration specifically, how to set up the filter so that when a group is selected, all the data in the reports gets filtered to show only the incidents where the affected users are members of that selected group.

We want to know how such a Filter can be build which will display the Incidents whose Affected Users are members of the selected group in the Filter.

@Sri Ram4 You need to dot-walk to the relevant field.

For example, if an incident was opened by a user who is part of a particular company, you would create a company filter. You would then add an addition field to the Data to filter, specifically incident.company. This would set the filter to act on the incident table with the relevant field filtered.

As for building a filter to display incidents who's affected users are members of a selected group, the same logic would hold. You will need to dot-walk to the relevant field. Our support tickets are tied to specific users rather than groups. In our instance, we do have support groups, for whom we've built filters to show the assignment groups on the dashboards.

I hope this answered your question or at least provided another angle of attack for you to ponder.
