Hi all,

I’m currently preparing for the ServiceNow CSA exam - Nov 2025 and have a quick question does the exam reference CSDM 4.0 or the latest CSDM 5.0 framework? I want to make sure I’m studying the correct version for questions related to service data models.

Can someone please confirm which version the CSA exam is currently based on?

questions is related to the current listening material and might cover some basic fundamental questions in relation to CSDM. I would advise you to read up on the latest version.

As per the Certified System Administrator (CSA) Mainline Exam Blueprint I would expect that topics of CSDM would be covered more in general perspective rather in details. If you will review the given eBook at your Inkling account, that should give you any idea. I don't think that there would be any clear answer around...

Hi, as far as I know, the current CSA exam still focuses mainly on the foundational CSDM concepts rather than deep version-specific implementation details. Most candidates are still preparing with CSDM 4.0 aligned material, but it’s always safer to review the latest updates introduced in 5.0 as well because ServiceNow gradually reflects newer terminology and best practices in exams.
When I was preparing, I compared a few resources and noticed some updated question patterns already mentioning newer framework concepts. I also used Certs4Sure for practice questions just to check where the focus was shifting, and it helped me identify which CSDM topics were appearing more frequently.
Hopefully someone who recently took the Nov 2025 track can confirm the exact weighting.
