    <description>&lt;P&gt;Field name trying to bulk list edit = Request State.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I applied a filter to SC_Task table and able to get associated REQUEST State field . But when trying to update the field value , getting " Security prevents writing to this field"&amp;nbsp; message. Other fields are allowing to listedit on sc_task table.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;But&amp;nbsp; I am able to list edit same field from sc_request table.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;what could be restricting the list edit for the request state filed in sc_task table?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thank you and appreciate your guidance on the request.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have the State field from the Request in my list view.&amp;nbsp; To be clear, this is when viewing the list, right-click on the column headers and choose Configure &amp;gt; List Layout.&amp;nbsp; I single-clicked Request then the tree icon that appeared above the left and right arrows, then selected State, resulting in this:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;span class="lia-inline-image-display-wrapper lia-image-align-inline" image-alt="BradBowman_0-1762987670994.png" style="width: 400px;"&gt;&lt;img src="https://www.servicenow.com/community/image/serverpage/image-id/482039iE6E79B6E55513314/image-size/medium/is-moderation-mode/true?v=v2&amp;amp;px=400" role="button" title="BradBowman_0-1762987670994.png" alt="BradBowman_0-1762987670994.png" /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;With this configuration, I am able to (in my mostly OOB Zurich PDI) double-click on a State value and update it.&amp;nbsp; When attempting to update multiple records, I get this:&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;This is platform-wide functionality that cannot be altered.&lt;/P&gt;
