Wanted to ask do you have to take the fundamentals course before you are able to take the service now Cad exam, and if you do , do they give you a discount voucher upon completion?

there's no prerequisite to take the exam, just recommended trainings.

See the Certified Application Developer (CAD) Exam Blueprint for more details and the Certified Application Developer (CAD) Learning Path to prepare.

There's no voucher anymore (after Webassessor was replaced by Pearson on 18th Nov 2025) and even when they were, none of them was to give you discount. There are limited promo codes, but no voucher ever gave you discount. The voucher was to let you take the exam but still sitting the exam was a subject of payment.

Scripting in ServiceNow fundamentals and Application development fundamentals are still prerequisite to take the exam. After training has been completed, then you off course need to pay for the exam attempt which there is no discount.

One thing I noticed that earlier we were required to complete certain fundamentals before registering. But since the transition to Pearson VUE, it’s now possible to directly register by simply paying the applicable fees.

(* a note here is for CMDB related specialization CIS-DF is a prerequisite)

Coming to your 2nd Query, No bud 😞 , You don't get any discount after completing, but still you should complete it as it will help you in preparation

Lastly, I will recommend you to register for ServiceNow Litoff and complete challenges as one of prize is a attempt to free mainline Certification , All the Best 🙂
