I am looking for guidance from the ServiceNow community regarding reporting and dashboard administration within a multi-tenant, domain-separated ServiceNow environment.

Our organisation is a customer of an MSP that operates a shared ServiceNow instance. We currently have standard ITIL access but do not have the report_admin role. As a result, we are unable to create certain dashboard components, including custom interactive filters, which limits our ability to analyse Incident and Service Request data.

Our requirement is to independently manage reporting assets within our own domain, including:

Creating and maintaining reports

Creating interactive dashboard filters

Managing dashboards

Sharing reports and dashboards with users within our organisation

Supporting operational reporting and service governance activities

My questions are:

In a domain-separated ServiceNow environment, is it technically possible to create a customer-specific reporting administration role without assigning the full report_admin role?

Can ACLs, domain separation and report ownership controls be used to provide restricted reporting administration capabilities for a single customer?

Are there any ServiceNow best practices or reference architectures for enabling customer-managed reporting in a shared multi-tenant environment?

Have other organisations successfully implemented a domain-scoped reporting role that allows dashboard and interactive filter administration while preventing access to global reports and platform configuration?

If this approach is not recommended, what alternative solutions have been used to provide customers with greater reporting self-service capability?

I am interested in understanding whether this is primarily a technical limitation within ServiceNow or a governance decision that varies between MSP implementations.

Any insights, examples or recommended approaches would be greatly appreciated.
