Hello everyone,

I hope you are doing well.

I recently applied for the RiseUp with ServiceNow program. I completed the Welcome to ServiceNow course and the Micro-Certification – Welcome to ServiceNow. After completing the prerequisites, I received an email on July 11 stating that my application had been moved to the final review stage.

Since then, I haven't received any further updates. I understand that the review process takes time, but I am feeling a little anxious because I am very passionate about building a career in the ServiceNow ecosystem.

I have a few questions for those who have already been through the RiseUp program:

Did you also receive the "final review stage" email before getting your offer letter?
Approximately how long did you wait before receiving an update or offer letter?
Were any applicants placed on a waitlist before receiving an offer?
Is there anything I should do while waiting, or should I simply wait for the next update?
As a final-year Computer Science student, I have been learning consistently and I am very excited about this opportunity. I would truly appreciate hearing about your experience and any advice you can share.

To share a perspective based on the RiseUp with ServiceNow Africa cohort process (specifically here in South Africa), here is how the journey typically unfolds:

1. The Timeline & Application Flow

In our regional cohort setup, the path usually looks like this:

Information Session & Pre-requisites: Attending the info session, applying, and completing the Welcome to ServiceNow course and micro-certification.
The Waiting Period: After submitting pre-requisites, there is usually a 2 to 4-week wait while applications are vetted. Receiving the "final review stage" email is standard as they sort through regional seats.
Interview Stage: If selected from the review stage, you’ll typically receive an invitation to book a short screening interview (e.g., with team members like Nayab). After that interview, it usually takes another week or so to get the official confirmation via email.

2. Regional Differences & Waitlists

Application handling varies slightly depending on the region:

Africa / Regional Cohorts: A lot of applicants move from the final review into the short interview routing stage before final placement.
Other Global Cohorts (e.g., India / AMS): Due to massive application volumes, candidates are very commonly placed on a waitlist status before being allocated seats in upcoming or subsequent cohort dates.

3. What You Should Do While Waiting

Don't just wait passively use this buffer time to your advantage!

Dive into ServiceNow University: Start working through free self-paced paths like ServiceNow Administration Fundamentals or exploring platform basics.
Get a PDI (Personal Developer Instance): Register on the ServiceNow Developer portal, request a free PDI, and start playing around with navigation, forms, and tables.
Stay Patient: RiseUp receives a massive volume of applications for every intake, so processing simply takes time.
