question Personal Developer Instances (PDI) - We're having trouble opening your instance due to an internal e in Community Central forum

We're having trouble opening your instance due to an internal error. We should have it fixed in a few minutes....

I've had this message for several days. I tried refreshing the instance and it still doesn't come back. I even release the instance and rebuilt it on Saturday and the message is back today on the new instance. If I rebuild this time, I loose data.

Any suggestions?

Hi @kimberlylp ,

This is actually a known issue with PDIs ,this error usually means your instance lost connection.

A PDI can go unavailable for a few reasons. Sometimes it is still waking up from hibernation. Sometimes there is patching or maintenance happening in the background. And sometimes the server pool your instance sits on is just having a bad day.

Reclaiming does not always help because your new instance might end up on the same server pool with the same problem.

A few things worth trying:

Open an incognito window and paste your PDI URL directly. Sometimes, this can resolve the issue.

If it still doesn't work , raise a ticket thru the Developer support portal. They can see what has gone wrong from their end.

If your instance has important work on it, give it some time before releasing it. It might come back on its own (This will take days or weeks).

If you need a PDI right now for learning or development, you can request one through a separate dev account as a temporary workaround.

One thing for the future, keep your important changes backed up in Source Control or Update Sets.

Have a good day!

Best,

Chanuka

If this helped point you in the right direction, please mark it as Helpful or Accept as Solution!
