How can we store AV devices in CMDB

Hi Team,

We need to store audio video devices in cmdb.

We are expecting the Meeting Room number or name will be the primary key for identifying also we need to include the different audio video devices in each room.

Is there any way or samples for this CMDB data?

You can try a communication class. You can few more types on the form. But if you need to create some hierarchy then yes you have to create a new class structure for this.

Multimedia device (cmdb_ci_multimedia) is the recommended class for AV equipment and Display device (cmdb_ci_display) for AV displays (screenshot from model categories table is attached which indicates this). Also since the aspects like cost, depreciation, contracts, warranty etc. would be important for most of the AV equipment, it is critical to ensure that they are tracked and managed as facility assets.

In this case we have an issue with camera or any other device how to tag that as a ci.
