question Discovery and Hardware Models in CMDB forum

Discovery is creating models and inputting the model number into the Name field on the Hardware Model Table. The model number field is empty. This would be for Cisco IP switches. It is also creating duplicate models on some assets. Some assets are adding the mac address to the field name as well Has anyone else have this happen to them. It has done it since discovery was installed.

OOTB discovery will map model name and sometimes model number depending on the CI class and patterns. I would suggest enabling Normalization Data Services and review https://community.servicenow.com/community?id=community_article&sys_id=ab5dcf2fdb3fff00fff8a345ca96194b
