This should be a scope issue or domain separation. OR you are not in the proper domain to edit the item.

Hello everyone,

I am trying to edit a catalog item in the catalog builder, but when I do I get the alert "This item cannot be checked out. If it was just published, please try after some time." The item in question is published, and I have the catalog_admin role and can edit other items. Also, I know that the item in question was not published recently like the alert suggests. Does anyone happen to know why this is happening?

Thanks,
Andrew

Just curious, but are you able to edit the item if you go to Service Catalog -> Maintain Items in the instance?

Hi @andrewoconn ,

Hope you are doing great.

Clear your browser cache and try accessing the catalog builder again. Sometimes, cached data can interfere with the proper functioning of ServiceNow features.

Ensure that no other user is currently editing or modifying the same catalog item.

Review the item's version history: In some cases, previous version conflicts can cause the item to be locked for editing. Access the catalog item's version history and check if there are any conflicting versions. You can do this by opening the Catalog Item record, clicking the "Versions" related list, and reviewing the version details.

Verify any recent changes or updates: It's possible that recent changes or updates made to the catalog item have caused the issue. Check if any recent modifications have been made to the item, such as related workflows, scripts, or dependencies. Identifying and addressing any potential conflicts can help resolve the problem.

We originally thought this was a scoping issue. It is not. More to come

We're seeing this issue too.
- Cat item built using Catalog Builder

- Submitted for review

- In the catalog builder it offers the option to edit the item, even if it is in the state of in_review. Trying this results in the error "This item review cannot be cancelled now"
- Even as an Admin in the console, if you navigate to the catalog item that is under review and use the OOTB Cancel Review button, you receive an error message stating "Unable to cancel review."

I can create my own button which moves the review back to draft, and checks in it's 'parent'. But even then, I can't hide the OOTB UI Action as it's locked via a protection policy.

Has anyone worked out what is going on here?

- Before anyone has touched the cat item which is in the state of 'In review', no one can
