Custom Scoped Application not available in Studio

Hi Team,

We have created a custom application in NewYork and Published it to Application Repository. Post that we had the instance upgraded to Orlando. Now we installed the App on DEV instance.

We have requirement to make the application available on Mobile. Now when we checked into Studio the custom application is not available.

Added a couple of admins as developers of the app but the Custom Application is not coming in studio to do the mobile Applet configurations.

Q1: Can you pick the application from the application picker? step 1, click the gear icon in the upper right, then look under Developer, and see if you can select the application.

Q2: Navigate to System Applications> My Company Applications. Does the application show up in the list (note, you may have to search for it.) If so, does the "Edit in Studio" button on that entry bring you where you want to go?

Thanks for the response. I am able to select the application in the Application Picker but when I click on studio from there it doesn't show up there.

What was the result of going to System Applications> My Company Applications? Does the app appear there?

The app is coming over there under installed but not available for Editing in Studio.

Let me walk you through this:
1. Created App in DEV.
2. Published to Repo.
3. Installed in QA
4. DEV cloned from PROD
5. DEV upgraded to Orlando
6. App installed from My Company Applications

Now, we want to customize the mobile applet for the same app, but its not available in Studio.

Now, I know if instead of publishing to the Repo if we had Published to Update Sets then everything would be fine. But my query is why does doing this to Repo behaving like this as the App is for internal use and we have assigned developers too in the app.

Hi Chuck,

Found the culprit, during clone the 'sys_app' table was not Preserved due to which the application was coming in Read mode only.

It was a slight overlook, as we usually don't preserve that table. (Sigh)

i am in a similar situation:

1. Created App in DEV.
2. Published to Repo.
3. Installed in QA
4. DEV cloned from PROD
5. App installed from My Company Applications

Now the app is not there in sys_app table and i cannot edit it in Studio too. What is to be done to fix this issue?

Hi Sankalp,

Restore the DEV to its previous state before Clone. Then in the PROD, exclude tables add the table 'sys_app'. Also, add this table in the Preserve Data.

If the App was deployed in QA/TEST instance via Update Set then, uninstall the app from DEV and deploy the Update Set from QA.
