question Re: Target Table Missing in Import Historic NeedIt Data Exercise in Developer forum

I was facing the same issue, the problem for me (and I guess that for you too) was that there was selected the option "Default[Global]" in the Update Set selector (to the left of the scope application selector).

Then, looking in the Local Update Set table, there was no Update set associate to the NeedIt Aplication (At this point I have no idea what caused it since it's suppose to be created when the application is created)

My solution was to reset and wipe my intance (it takes like 1 hour) and start from 0.
Then, in Studio I selected the Import from Source Control option and linked it to my git repository.

I verified that the Update Set was created and then I changed to the last branch.

Hope you find this useful

PD: This is an solution, maybe not the best. I'm interested on learning what was the problem with the UpdateSet, so if anyone knows what happened and how to fix it, plss reply me

I'm going through the learning path training and in the Importing Data section I'm trying to import the historic data into my NeedIt table. When I start to configure the table transform map I go to the (mandatory) Target table field and my table isn't there. This is the first time I've had this issue in the exercises. I created a branch and brought information over and imported the historic data set. Any ideas why the standard NeedIt table isn't showing this time?

Thanks!

Where does this NeedIt table come from? Was it one you needed to create?

Which "learning path training" are you doing?

I'm on the New to Service Now learning path for Istanbul. We created the NeedIt table way back in the beginning and every other time I've needed to use it (just over halfway through the path) I have been able to. I'm still trying to figure out how to delete some of the example stuff so I can start over and see if I somehow missed something.

I responded from email and it put in blank images. Not sure why since there weren't any images.

Yes,the link you added was one of the ServiceNow learning paths. Basically if you go from the beginning you are building upon previous lessons. Once you have the NeedIt table (in the beginning) you never delete it as it's used in every exercise. At the beginning of each module they have you fork the repository f this is your first module and if not, skip to creating a branch for this set of exercises. For this particular module I created the branch and prepared the data for importing. I downloaded the historic data set and was in the process of creating a Transform Map when I went to enter the target table (x_#####_needit_needit) and it wasn't in the list. So now I'm stuck and can't seem to figure out what happened and why the NeedIt table is not available.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Dave!!!! That was it! Turns out I was in the wrong scope. I was able to turn the scope picker on and switch to the NeedIt scope. Then I needed to delete the previously imported data sets that were still linked to the other scope, but after that I was able to smoothly continue with the exercise. I don't know how I landed in the wrong scope, but I'll definitely pay more attention from here out.

Hi Dave, I'm experiencing the same issue except with the Source Table instead of the Target Table. I tried the solutions you recommended here but was unable to resolve the issue. One, the sys_db_object.list yields no results regardless of which scope I'm in (Global/Needit/Innovate), and two, when I'm in Global scope my Needit target table is not available, but when I'm in Needit scope it is available. Nonetheless, the Source table is not available and so I'm unable to create a transfer map. I appreciate any insight you can share.

Hi @ all, I'm on the learning path for madrid. I finished most of the exercises without having too much trouble. I like to mention that I found it really nice that the lessons and exercises are available alongside the training instance for SNOW. Now, in the lesson of Importing Data I did all the necessary steps - including the "create a branch from a tag" exercise to load all the data that where needed for this lesson.

So I checked with sys_db_object.list that the respective x_<number>_needit_needit table is there in the list (and it is) and I'm also in the right Needit scope (as Dave recommended - checked with picker in the header). But still when I open a dialog for a new transfer map (and I deleted the former imported import set and loaded it newly as earlier mentioned here in this blog) I get the Global scope under Application on that mask and I do not get the right target table in the list of tables (x_<number>_needit_needit)??

(Note:Also I switched back to another scope and it did switch the scope on this mask from global but not for the needit scope!)

I appreciate any help on that.

@

<SN-MENTION class="sn-mention" table="live_profile" sysid="1ebc4e7bdb6ff708414eeeb5ca9619e4">@rksnow</SN-MENTION> , <SN-MENTION class="sn-mention" table="live_profile" sysid="57767f75dbbd3f00fece0b55ca9619cc">@Ary</SN-MENTION> , <SN-MENTION class="sn-mention" table="live_profile" sysid="935a29a0db55f708fff8a345ca961913">@Jonas Richard</SN-MENTION>

In addition to scope check.

Have eye on Application Access for Needit Table.

(Because, it restricts to insert new record if can create field is unchecked)

Steps to follow-

Go Studio->Click on Needit Application->(Under Data Model->Tables->NeedIt)->under Application access tick can create checkbox.

Refer Screenshot-

I had this same issue and was in the correct scope. For me, changing to another browser fixed my issue. Went from Edge to Chrome. Some browser cache issue.

Hi,
Had similar issue with the Zurich PDI , so used the globe icon (top right) to schnge scope to NeedIt,which worked and the rest of the exercise worked.
Might need a change in the exercises to reflect the change in versions available....
