question List Report - Average the data in ITOM forum

My manager was attempting to create a list report and when he was using it, the list had a bottom piece where it averaged out the values. However we have not been able to reproduce this ever since. I having included a screenshot and have attempted to recreate but have been unsuccessful. Does anyone know how to add this "footer" or average piece?

You can actually set this in the list view (not specific to a report) of a table. Go to the list header, right click and choose Personalize > List Calculations and you'll have the option to do averaging, totaling, etc.

Totaling in Lists - ServiceNow Wiki

I think you mean that when you were designing the report, you can right-click on a column header of interest in the list result, and choose: "Personalize: List Calculations" and choose to display an Average for that column.

Is that what you were looking for?

Hi Brad, I'm trying to do the same thing as Toney. But, I'm only presented with the options of Min/Max values. There are no options to select Total and Average, which I need to have. The wiki, for configuring list calculations, says that Total and Average aren't available for date, string, date/time. That's fine because I'm using a choice type with values of 1 - 5. Any ideas why I don't have the option for Average and Total? Thanks!

Tyler

Hi Tyler,

Is you choice field an integer field with choices like the state field or just a choice field?

It was just a choice field. I switched to Integer, and it works now! I'm curious why it would matter though? The choice field still had a numerical value associated with it. Thanks again though!
