Hi Team,

I am trying to run discovery on netapp storage device and getting below error. Can you please let me know where i am going wrong?

Have you configured the SNMP and basic auth credentials as stated in the documentation:

Configure SNMP community credentials to classify the NetApp server.
Using local credentials, create a credential of type basic authentication to use when identifying and exploring the NetApp server. On the NetApp server, the credential must use the authentication method of "password" and allow read-only access to the ONTAP API. For cluster mode, the user can have a read-only role with default access. For 7-mode, the user must have a custom role with the following capabilities:
- login_snmp, login-ndmp, login-sp, and login-http-admin

Hi Adil,

Yes, SNMP credential (public) was already there by default. i created basic auth with the username and password provided by our storage team. Still it not able to classify it and giving me the error as shown in the screenshot.

If you open the SNMP - Classify input ecc queue entry (SNMP - Classify: 0 OIDs) does it give any error in the XML results?

Not familiar with NetApp configuration specifically, but is the MID server IP listed as a management interface in the SNMP settings on the NetApp device?

This is either the problem with the credential or the timeout (default 1500 milliseconds) is too low.

You can set the timeout parameter for the SNMP - Classify to 5000 or higher say 30000 and see if the given SNMP - Classify probe is able to fetch any OIDs.

Hi Adil.

I just did the following:

1. Navigate to Discovery Definition ---> Probes

2. Select SNMP - classify probe

3. Add a parameter : timeout value: 5000

It is still giving the same error , no oid's being fetched.

Please advise.

In that case you need to involve the Netapp administrator as they would be able to dig down the security logs on the NetApp server and review whether it is a performance or authentication issue.

i just realized we don't have snmp community string on mid server. Could that be the cause for this error?

The SNMP Community credential needs to be updated on the instance not on the MID Server.

Does SNMP V3 creds works too ? we are trying the same but with snmp v3 creds and may i know more about basic auth i created basic auth but during run i dont see IP affinity being updated in this record.

We are facing same error stated above but we are able to get the OID but not the info from exploration phase.
