Omit Filters only makes omit related list filter, and I need to hide after list button clicked.

need to remove after clicking on edit

sorry you are right. I was too fast 🙂

Basically there is no configuration for that, but you can achieve the goal by creating a customized version of the "Edit" button.

And for hiding the condition builder add the following line of code:

uri.set('jvar_no_filter', 'true');

I have tried the given but no luck

UI action Name: Edit

Action: m2m_change_edit

condition: RP.isManyToMany() && RP.getListControl().isOmitEditButton()

table: m2m Location Change Request.

uri.set('sysparm_m2m_ref', 'current.getTableName()');
uri.set('sysparm_stack', 'no');
uri.set('sysparm_collection', 'change_request');
uri.set('sysparm_collection_label', 'Locations');
uri.set('sysparm_collection_related_field', 'u_location');
uri.set('sysparm_collection_related_file', 'cmn_location');
uri.set('jvar_no_filter', 'true'); //hides filters when the edit button is clicked so it is limited to the below query.
action.setRedirectURL(uri.toString('sys_m2m_template.do'));

When i click on edit. it is throwing alert message no record selected.

any issue with script

This worked well for me

use DOM manipulation + UI Script

DOM is not recommended.

1) Create UI Script

a) Name - hideFilter

b) UI Type - Desktop

c) Global - True

d) Script: Below

Note: Ensure you give the proper table name in the indexOf() as per your table on which related list is used

I was on incident form and clicked on Edit button from Problem related list. You use yours

So I used sys_target=problem

addLoadEvent(hideButtonsAdd);

function hideButtonsAdd()
{
	if(document.URL.indexOf('sys_target=problem')!=-1) // change the table name "problem" value as per the related list being used by you
	{
		gel("_add").disabled = true;
		gel("_run").disabled = true;
	}
}

Output: Add Filter and Run Filter is Disabled

Hi Arkesh,

as you have a custom table I cannot reproduce your settings on my PDI, but I think I found at least one problem.

Wrong

uri.set('sysparm_m2m_ref', 'current.getTableName()');

Correct

uri.set('sysparm_m2m_ref', current.getTableName());

If the error remain please take an existing OOTB "Edit" UI Action for related lists and copy the code. And don't forget the line uri.set('jvar_no_filter', 'true'); for disabling the condition builder

UI Action based approach based on problem table which is related list on Incident table

1) Visit this OOB UI Action -> Edit on Global Table

Update as this so that you create new button for your related list table

a) Action name - sysverb_edit_o2m_problem

b) Condition: (new GlideRecord(current.getTableName())).canWrite() && RP.isOneToMany() && !RP.getListControl().isOmitEditButton() && current.getTableName() == 'problem'

c) Script:

var uri = action.getGlideURI();
var path = uri.getFileFromPath();
uri.set('sysparm_m2m_ref', current.getTableName());
uri.set('sysparm_collection_related_file', current.getTableName());
uri.set('sysparm_form_type', 'o2m');
uri.set('sysparm_stack', 'no');
uri.set('sysparm_query', '');
uri.set('jvar_no_filter', 'true'); // added new
action.setRedirectURL(uri.toString('sys_m2m_template.do'));

d) Do Insert and Stay

2) Now Visit the Edit button which is OOB and update the condition as this so that the OOB button is not visible for your table

1) users with role A should not be able to change the filter

2) All users without role A should be able to change the filter

Can you explain this?

Filter should be hide for all users except admin user. and list collector should display only active records to all users

Hi,

You can show active records by giving the query

uri.set('sysparm_query', 'active=true');

Now coming to hiding/showing the filter you can use either of these 2 approaches

1) Create 2 Edit buttons

a) For admin user which won't have this -> uri.set('jvar_no_filter', 'true');

b) for non-admin user which has this -> uri.set('jvar_no_filter', 'true');

2) UI Script I shared can be using to determine the role and hide the filters using DOM

I've just tried your solution and did some additional changes in the script, based on my requirements. I would only like to hide one condition (marked in red below):

My UI script:

Outcome (all conditions get hidden):

Is there a way to only hide one condition from users? Locking it from editing would also work in my situation.

Can we hide a part of filter e.g. 3 filters have been applied in the Edit UI Action, I want to hide or make only one filter read only, can we do this?

Thanks Ankur for replying. Requirement is Operational status is not retired filter should only be made invisible or read only (other filters should remain as it is) or either they should not be able to select retired cis in slushbucket. Could you please let me know how to achieve this. Can a business rule be written to abort action if users are selecting retired ci in slush bucket?

Or can I remove retired choice itself from operational status filter in slushbucket?

Is it possible to show the filtered user list even if the user does not have permission to the filter? What I mean is I need a filter on the user based o roles and have used it in the UI Action but itil users don't have access to the field roles on user table, so it gets converted to keywords and does not load all the result.
