Filtering to show only unassigned tasks on VTB

We are starting to use the VTB pretty heavily in our organization. Normal use with that tool allows you to click on a user or a tag and it will filter out results and only show you task board items that meet that criteria. I would like to have the ability to show only items that are unassigned.

Has anyone done this or does anyone know if this feature is coming in the future. Some of our boards have many, many items and it would be extremely helpful to administer work through the board.

Hi Justin,

have you checked going to the board, under ( i ) there is a setting to define a filter on the board table records.

This could potentially achieve what you are aiming for.

I don't have any options to define any filters. It's a Freeform Board, if that matters.

is there a particular reason you use Freedom Board? As your requirements might be better served by either a Flexi or Guided board, and you could define filters:

We use freeform boards because we are pulling in many different types of data (incidents, change requests, private tasks, catalog tasks). It works well for us.

We are looking for the same functionality. Like a tag for "unassigned" or something. As a workaround the default lane for our board is "Unassigned Backlog" and we are going to move items into the "Assigned Backlog" once there is a name on it.

Using the board filter to only show unassigned will mean nothing assigned shows up or course - but if you change the filter to add them back in they will all go back to the first lane.

An option is to have a separate board for unassigned, and only show assigned stuff on the other board.

I do like the idea of an unassigned backlog lane as per below, however that would require regular checking to see if there are any assigned items in there.
