All Child Task are 'Closed Complete' but Parent Task does not auto closed in Project Workspace.

Hi All,

In production environment, All child tasks are 'Closed Complete' but Parent Task does not changed its status to 'Closed Complete' automatically, as per OOTB functionality, It should closed automatically.
We also tried to update Parent Task manually but its giving 'Invalid Update' Error.

What could be the reasons for this issue? Can someone help on this.

Hi @_Yash24,

Is there any other error message you are getting other then "invalid Update"?

Also try using the Project diagnostic to check if there are any tasks with invalid top tasks are present or tasks with invalid states are present.

1.Check whether the OOTB business rule to close parent task is active or not.

2.Check is there any other br present which is restricting to close parent task.

Yes, along with 'Invalid Error' we are also getting below info message.

Hi @_Yash24,

project should not have time constraints other then ASAP or Start On Specific Date.

Make sure, when project is getting closed, or state is rolling up, time constraint is not altered in the project.

Also validate the time constraint for all the tasks of the project.
