I can't delete an arrow on Virtual Agent designer

So, basically my problem is that I can't delete an arrow. It's gray and I can't use or click on it.

Ah yes, very annoying bug 😞

Sometimes this could be correct in case your really breaking the flow. Though when working with multiple transitions, the If utility, etc, this also sometimes occurs #$&(#@)%^!_
After dragging/dropping some utilities or transitions, you will notice that somehow the transition is available again to change.

Real nasty bug in my opinion.

I can second that notion of this being an annoying bug.

Another workaround - if it's at a decision block - is to just set that decision branch to a condition that will never happen and just leave it 😕

Ugly and terrible design, but unfortunately there may be no other options. If they haven't fixed it in New York or Orlando, perhaps you'd be able to delete it via Orlando's new VA Designer Table View?

This is a product bug. You can't really do anything about it, better start creating a new flow. Else, make this arrow to null.

Starting you Flow all over like sandeep mentioned doesn't make any sense. Go for what Chris mentioned if you are on Orlando. If you are on New York, just adding a transition on the Decision, moving a bit around, and somehow it becomes available again. Really annoying!

Also just tried to reproduce on Orlando, yes to workflow looks odd though it's hard to reproduce 🙂

1) A design with a Transition error

2) Changing the Transition through the Table View (= Orlando)

3) Fixed!

Ran into this problem yesterday. Glad this was posted in Community as it saved my sanity.

I did find a work around for the problem. It does work, but use it with caution as my solution does work around the interface and may or may not lead to different problems. It worked successfully for me.

Rename the connnector to be deleted with something easily distinguishable.
Go to the table sys_cb_topic
Locate the topic with the issue.
Either add the field "Graph" to the form or as a column in list view.
Retrieve the data from that field. Its just JSON. Put it into your favorite editor.
Search the text for the connector name.
Delete that element.
Copy and paste the code back into the record in ServiceNow and save it.
Now refresh the Designer and open the topic.
Viola!! Fixed!!!

Again, this is not a supported technique. Use at your own risk and YMMV.

If you do follow this, I recommend first saving an original copy of the code incase the edit goes bad. its an easy recovery by pasting the original back in.

Nice! Glad you found another approach! Did you try Mark's approach above though? Just switch to table view and delete the "undeletable" extra node there. I've yet to run into a case where this doesn't work and luckily it's a 15 second fix.

I hadn't tried Mark's approach as I didn't find this posting until after I tried my approach. The table view is a better route for sure.

I encountered this issue today also and found a quick and easy solution. I created a new branch from the decision block and ended it on itself. This allowed me to delete the previously 'un-deletable' arrow, then I moved the new branch back to where it was and I was able to delete this also.

Weird bug, but hopefully this will help someone.
