How to populate variables (short description and description) of RITM in catalog task activities?

Here are the Steps that you can follow...

Step1  : Click on the Filter button.

Step 2: If your variable not exists "Click configure variables"

Then a slush bucket will be come.

Then click on the variable that you want. in slush bucket, then click save then you can save and Refresh the form 

Note : Sometimes I have observed that it doesn't get applied directly to the existing catalog item. You might have to create a new one to test and ensure the short_description is filled.
