How to use of Time Worked field to track time spent in forms?

When trying this field Out of the Box, we realize that the time continues to run as long as the window is open, or even if the ticket is opened in two different tabs.

 

What happens then if the Ticket is being worked by two different agents?

 

How can this limitation be overcome?
