ServiceNow Keeps the Cameras Rolling at Starz

Starz Uses ServiceNow to Schedule, Track and Maintain Broadcast Assets

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Sept. 1, 2015 – ServiceNow® (NYSE: NOW), the enterprise cloud company, today announced that Starz is using ServiceNow to streamline processes within the company’s IT and Broadcast departments.

Extending ServiceNow from use within the Starz’s IT group, the Starz broadcast division uses the software to help maintain the functionality of broadcast equipment that editors and producers use to create and deliver content, such as its STARZ Original series, including “Outlander” and “Power.” Edit and audio bays, workstations, and storage, for instance, are required to have maximum uptime. Through ServiceNow service management software Starz’s broadcast operations engineers can view any outstanding services needed for the assets. For example, the engineers can see the history and status of open tickets as they hand off work to the next shift as part of their 24/7 support, yielding better collaboration and prioritization of projects.

“ServiceNow is not just an IT solution for us. It supports our core broadcast services and the Starz core business,” said Judy Batenburg, senior vice president of IT Services, Starz.

With ServiceNow, Starz consolidated multiple IT management tools into a single system‑of‑record that standardizes processes. Then Starz automated the management of incidents, changes, configurations and assets for its IT and Broadcast departments. On one platform, Starz can more effectively manage its physical assets, report accurate metrics and deliver a high‑quality service experience to its employees.

Starz also launched a new portal for employees with a robust knowledge base to better automate the process of IT service requests ‑‑ from inception to execution. When an employee needs an IT service, it is automatically added into the ServiceNow system as a request that can be tracked and prioritized by the IT team.
