Set up and configure Digital End-User Experience. Learn how to integrate web/SaaS or installed applications and to make modifications or removals from the Application and Device Health monitoring system. Customize the Desktop Assistant by organizing the Home page into sections and adding cards to these sections, enhancing your efficiency and accessibility.

Before setting up and using Digital End-User Experience (DEX), confirm that the system meets the minimum requirements to guarantee optimal performance. For more information, see [DEX system requirements](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/qWAaquUosdf3Uuf0Q1rG1A "System requirements are the fundamental specifications and configuration needed to install and run DEX effectively.").
To set up DEX and begin exploring the workspace, you must complete the following configurations.

1. [Install Application and Device Health.](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/qStMh5M6zGHyAaHVasYNLw "Digital End-User Experience (DEX) is available with activation of the Digital End-User Experience [sn_dex] plugin. You can install the DEX product [sn_dex] if you have the admin role. During installation, Application and Device Health is included as a component in DEX.")
2. [Create an ACC registration key](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/8FskjrUEfpCzwgPhon0GYQ "Set up an Agent Client Collector (ACC) by creating an agent registration key to identify and authenticate agents that are enabled to send data to the collector. The key helps promote the security and integrity of the data collected from the system.").
3. [Install ACC for DEX on Windows](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/wgUC5CBjMKlbXu3ozdglNg "Install Agent Client Collector (ACC) to work with Digital End-User Experience (DEX) to monitor and collect data, provide insights into system performance, identify issues, and enable proactive maintenance.") or [Install ACC for DEX on macOS](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/~Ldj_~kTvhB0rc_Q57gC8g "Install Agent Client Collector (ACC) to monitor and collect data in a centralized and organized manner, provide insights into system performance, identify issues, and enable proactive maintenance.").
   * If you want to install Agent Client Collector (ACC) on Windows and Mac manually, see [Install the Agent Client Collector on a Windows machine manually](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/access?context=acc-install-windows&version=xanadu&pubname=xanadu-it-operations-management&ft:locale=en-US) or [Manually install Agent Client Collector on macOS](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/access?context=acc-install-macOS-manual&version=xanadu&pubname=xanadu-it-operations-management&ft:locale=en-US). Verify you configure MID-less ACC before proceeding to the next configuration step.
   * If you have a MID-based ACC, you must convert it to a MID-less ACC. For more information regarding conversion, see [Convert MID-based ACC to MID-less](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/7fRa3xTYkVmcuvIIc9hvgg "Convert MID-based Agent Client Collector (ACC) to MID-less ACC by adjusting the configuration in acc.yml, decoupling from a specific MID to enhance flexibility and adaptability.").
   * If you want to fetch the complete playbook content data for a Windows device, see [Run ACC as a local system account user](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/YuJ6IaWT_ITuVerryaiwJg "To fetch the complete playbook content data for a Windows device, the Agent Client Collector (ACC) must run as a local system account.").

4. [Enable DEX browser extension](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/H_8J42AfZY704Vyijk4klg "Activate the DEX Chrome or Edge Extension on your system to collect different operational or performance-based metrics for the web applications.").
5. [Onboard for Application and Device Health.](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/CSWH2L4BtKfa01S4ukTDOA "During the onboarding process, when there's no application listed to be monitored, you can begin by accessing a list of available applications. You can also add your own custom applications and enable them for monitoring along with any existing applications.")
6. [Explore Application \& Device Health interface](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/08~aei0AOUoyfg_F8GGUjQ "Get information and entry point into different Digital End-User Experience Application and Device Health features by exploring tabs within the application.").
   Note:
DEX Content Playbook provides policies, check definitions, and actions that can be used by Application and Device Health to facilitate the monitoring of applications and devices, and to support application remediation. You can also refer to [DEX Content Playbook reference](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/ZdABcySuECDwoPugqiOHZw "Reference topics provide additional information about policies and check definitions provided by DEX Content Playbook.") to learn the content it provides.
7. [Setting up DEX Desktop Assistant](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/_AdxDrlc9UtFNf2cbwnRqQ "Download Desktop Assistant and customize the Home page by dividing the page into sections of cards to access applications more efficiently.").
