The ServiceNow®
Mobile Publishing application enables you to publish secure and branded mobile
applications. These mobile apps use your unique company identity and management
method.
ServiceNow offers the following ways to customize your mobile apps:

* Branding: Determines what users see before they reach the login screen.
* Theming: Determines what users see after they log in.

{#mobile-publishing__ul_zms_smm_d1c}Mobile Publishing enables you to brand your mobile apps. You can use Mobile Publishing to create a visually distinct version of ServiceNow mobile apps with custom branding that reflects your unique company identity. Configure each of your mobile apps with a unique name, splash screen, icon, Mobile Device Management (MDM) vendor, and colors.
For information about using theming to further customize your apps, see:

* [Next Experience theming for mobile](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/IiKtf_APVzEpy6aaOqSfMw "Use Next Experience theming to give your mobile apps color scheme consistent with your instance web experience.")
* [Legacy mobile theming](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/HUvSoMb9fY2mNoDfxHvzWA "Use themes on your mobile applications so that your customers and employees can recognize your unique company identity.")
{#mobile-publishing__ul_nz4_nnm_d1c}

In addition to branding and theming your mobile apps, you can also customize app behavior to make them more efficient for your end-users to use. For example, you can request a custom branded mobile app and configure an
auto-populated URL so your end-users don't need to type the instance URL during login. This can be configured in the Login management section of the Request a new app form. For more
information, see the [Request, test, and publish a branded mobile app](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/bPg6E0IhQErqS_nDJn885A "Publish secure custom mobile apps with your unique company identity by requesting branded versions of ServiceNow mobile apps.") section that contains instructions for requesting custom branded apps for both the iOS and the Android platforms.
For more information about the considerations for using Mobile Publishing and configuring it, see [Mobile Publishing resources](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/Sbgt_z21cs7dRgr_v97d3w "Here are some additional resources to help you plan and publish branded mobile applications."). For information about why your company might want to use Mobile Publishing, see [Mobile Publishing use cases](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/cYbrIcMoG6pjSvywQ~zmsA "Here are several reasons to use Mobile Publishing to brand the mobile apps of your company.").
Note:
Mobile Publishing is supported on both production and sub-production ServiceNow instances.

The ServiceNow publishing program complies with the suggested practices from Google and Apple for branded app releases. The program gives you a guided path to achieve your branding goals.

## Licensing {#mobile-publishing__section_zvb_tp1_zdc}

Mobile Publishing is a paid plugin. It is included in the Pro, Enterprise, and App Engine subscription levels (SKU's) of ServiceNow. Alternatively, you can purchase the plugin on the ServiceNow Store and add it to your ServiceNow subscription. Navigate to the [ServiceNow Store](https://store.servicenow.com/sn_appstore_store.do#!/store/home), log in with your credentials, and then search for <kbd class="ph userinput">mobile publishing</kbd>.

## Custom-type mobile apps {#mobile-publishing__section_h22_kpf_d1c}

Use Mobile Publishing to brand standard Now Mobile and Mobile Agent apps that are part of the ServiceNow Mobile Platform. If you need additional client app types other than Now Mobile and Mobile Agent, you can create custom app types that have unique mobile client app names.

For more information about custom mobile apps, see [Create custom-type mobile apps with Mobile Publishing](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/c2Rsycxn2CFKQxhV8cYCCw "Request and create custom-type mobile apps that are equivalent to Mobile Agent and Now Mobile apps with Mobile Publishing and Mobile App Builder.").

For more information about the integration between Mobile Publishing and Mobile App Builder, see [Mobile App Builder](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/eApRZ__xWT8GOdf6KDIyIg "The ServiceNow Mobile App Builder (MAB) is a configuration tool to build and manage screens and records that make up workflows within ServiceNow mobile apps. The organizational layout and navigation options in the Mobile App Builder facilitate a faster and more intuitive creation of ServiceNow mobile applications.").
