# User tracking preferences

# How users consent to tracking in User Experience Analytics {#ariaid-title1}

An individual can select to opt in or opt out of User Experience Analytics advanced tracking at any time.

## Before you begin

Role required: user

## About this task

You can opt in or opt out of advanced tracking on a mobile device, in the Service Portal, or in the web-based UI. The selection to either opt in or opt out applies to all areas where User Experience Analytics advanced tracking takes place.

## Procedure

Access a platform to configure User Experience Analytics advanced tracking settings either via your mobile application, the Service Portal, or the web-based UI.

| Platform type | Action |
| Mobile application | 1. Tap More (![More icon.]()) in the navigation bar. 2. Tap Settings (![Setting icon.]()). 3. On the Settings page, tap the Analytics option. 4. Either enable the Enable Analytics button to opt in to advanced tracking, or turn off the Enable Analytics button to opt out of advanced tracking. {#user-exp-analytics-user-set__ol_hhq_bmv_hsb} |
| Web-based UI | 1. Navigate to AllUsage Tracking ConsentEnable/Disable Tracking. 2. Select or clear Enable Tracking to opt in to or opt out of advanced tracking. 3. Select Save. {#user-exp-analytics-user-set__ol_a2s_jmv_hsb} |

Note:  
When a user's country consent policy is set to Notice or Explicit Opt In, they receive a new notice or opt-in message yearly.
