## Summary of Managing AI agents in Assistant Designer Asset library

This content explains how ServiceNow customers can view and manage AI agents created in AI Agent Studio through the Assistant Designer Asset library.
It highlights that while AI agents are visible in the Assistant Designer Asset library, they cannot be created, edited, or deleted there; these actions must be performed in AI Agent Studio.

The interface experience depends on whether the ServiceNow Otto in Virtual Agent plugin is installed, affecting how AI agents are displayed.

## Key Features

* **Viewing AI Agents:** Customers can see a list of AI agents activated for the Assistant Designer Asset library, including details such as name, type, status, active state, last modified time, and description.
* **Row Actions:** Through the row actions icon, customers can toggle the AI agent's **Promoted** , **Discoverable** , **Visible** , and **Active** settings to control how and when the AI agent is available or suggested in conversations.
* **Role Requirement:** Access requires the `virtualagentadmin` role.
* **AI Agent Studio Integration:** Selecting an AI agent in the library opens it in AI Agent Studio, where full creation, editing, testing, and deletion capabilities are available.

## Enabling AI Agents in Assistant Designer Asset library

To make an AI agent appear in the Assistant Designer Asset library, customers must configure availability in AI Agent Studio:

* Go to **All \> AI Agent Studio \> Overview** and select the AI agent.
* Open the **Define availability** tab.
* In the **Engage via Virtual Agent assistants** card, activate the **Allow** toggle.
* Select the desired chat assistants where the AI agent should be discoverable.

## Why This Matters

This setup helps customers centrally manage AI agents that power conversational experiences while controlling their visibility and availability across virtual assistants. It ensures that AI agents are properly maintained in AI Agent Studio but can be efficiently surfaced and managed in the Assistant Designer Asset library for deployment and discovery by end users.
View AI agents created in AI Agent Studio through Assistant Designer Asset library.
Note:
An updated Assistant Designer Asset library user interface is available when you install ServiceNow Otto in Virtual Agent. This content assumes that you can see the list view. If ServiceNow Otto in Virtual Agent is not installed, you see the legacy UI and topics page. For more information, see [Virtual Agent Designer legacy topics page](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/vgy0BVkFtH0VhBCLXyWO1Q "The Virtual Agent Designer legacy home page lists cards for available topics in your instance.").

Role required: virtual_agent_admin

When you select an AI agent, it opens in AI Agent Studio. AI agents currently can't be created or edited in Assistant Designer Asset library. You can only view them in Assistant Designer Asset library. They can be created, edited, tested, and deleted only in AI Agent Studio. For more details, see [AI Agent Studio overview](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/access?context=ai-agent-studio&version=zurich&pubname=zurich-intelligent-experiences&ft:locale=en-US).
