The ServiceNow
Discovery application uses the Cisco WAPs extension to find Wireless Access Points (WAPs) that are controlled by a Cisco network switch. Discovering some of these resources may require updating to the latest version of the Discovery and Service Mapping Patterns application from the ServiceNow Store.
This extension extends the Network Switch discovery pattern. For more information, see [Network switch and router discovery](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/xlJ~H8xUCsH~2DIYlJKcYQ "Discovery identifies and classifies information about network switches and routers.").

Discovery uses the Cisco WAPs extension to run horizontal discovery.

## Request apps on the Store {#cisco-waps-discovery__section_gvb_cql_rlb}

Visit the [ServiceNow Store](https://store.servicenow.com/sn_appstore_store.do#!/store/home) website to view all the available apps and for information about submitting requests to the store. For cumulative release notes information for all released apps, see the [ServiceNow Store version history release notes](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/r/store-release-notes/sn-store-release-notes.html).{#cisco-waps-discovery__inline-send-to-store}

## Prerequisites {#cisco-waps-discovery__section_pt3_qqw_clb}

For prerequisites related to network switch discovery, see [Network switch and router discovery](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/xlJ~H8xUCsH~2DIYlJKcYQ "Discovery identifies and classifies information about network switches and routers.").
In addition, these prerequisites must be in place for the Cisco WAPs extension:

* Permission to query the OID: 1.3.6.1.4.1.14179.2.2.1.1.
* The client must be able to run discovery patterns.
* The client must use a Cisco network switch.
* The client must have SNMP access to the Cisco network switch that controls the WAP devices.
