Deactivate a managed AI agent directly from its asset record using kill switch protocol, even if the agent has no associated security event.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn_ai_governance.ai_steward

This action is available only for managed AI agents in the Agentic AI category. It isn't available for unmanaged agents.

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllAI Control TowerHomeInventoryAssets.
2. Open the AI asset record for the managed AI agent that you want to deactivate.
3. From the Actions menu, select Deactivate Agent.
4. In the confirmation dialog box that appears, provide the reason for deactivation and select Deactivate.
For details on tracking deactivation progress, retrying a failed operation, and reinstating the agent afterward, see [Contain AI agents manually using kill switch protocol](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/ydFgncmKX~gV64E4iWARPQ "Deactivate or reinstate AI agents using kill switch protocol to eliminate malicious activity and improve your security posture.").
