# Update a submitted digital forensic request

# Update a submitted digital forensic request {#ariaid-title1}

Update the request details, add comments, manage custodial and non-custodial data, or
upload documents in a digital forensic request you submitted while it is still in the New
state. You can cancel a submitted request irrespective of its state.

Role required: sn_lg_ops.legal_user

## Procedimento

1. Navigate to AllEmployee Center.  
   Nota:  
   If you're using Legal Service Portal, open a request by navigating to the Legal Service Portal portal and selecting My Requests from the header.
2. Select Legal services from the header.
3. Select My Requests from the header.
4. Open your submitted digital forensic request from the list.
5. On the Standard Ticket page, review and edit the request details or cancel the request.

   | Action | Steps |
   | Edit request details | Nota: This option is available if the request is in the New state. 1. From the Actions menu, select Edit Request. 2. In the Variables form, complete any of the following actions: * To modify the request details, update fields as needed. * To add custodial data, click Add. For more information, see [Add a custodian to a digital forensic request](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/Xl6R~P9hwW3FEsMTImV3TA#add-custodian-dft-request "Add a custodian and related data source details in your digital forensic request."). * To remove all custodial data, click Remove All. * To add non-custodial data, click Add. For more information, see [Add a custodian to a digital forensic request](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/Xl6R~P9hwW3FEsMTImV3TA#add-custodian-dft-request "Add a custodian and related data source details in your digital forensic request."). * To remove all non-custodial data, click Remove All. * To add multiple custodial or non-custodial data from a file in one go, click Upload. Click Save. 4. Click Back to return to the Standard Ticket page. The digital forensic request is updated with the new information. The changes appear as comments in the Additional Comments section of the request. |
   | Cancel the request | 1. From the Actions menu, select Cancel Request. 2. In the Confirm request cancellation dialog box, provide the reason of cancellation in the Comments field and click Confirm Cancellation. The request is canceled and the cancellation comments appear in the Additional Comments section of the request. |

6. **Opcional:** In the Activity tab, provide comments supporting your request.
7. **Opcional:** Manage documents supporting your request.

   | If the Documents tab is visible | * To upload a new document, select Attach and select a file. 8. **Opcional:** In the Custodial Data tab, view the existing custodians added to the request or export to a file by clicking the more options icon (![More options icon.]()).
9. **Opcional:** In the Non-Custodial Data tab, view the existing non-custodial data added to the request or export to a file by clicking the more options icon (![More options icon.]()).
