# Creating a new role group

# Creating a new role group through the Skills Workspace {#ariaid-title1}

Add a new role group in the Skills Workspace to create a category of roles in your organization.

Role required: sn_skills_int.job_arch_admin

## Procedimento

1. Navigate to AllSkills Workspace.
2. Select the Lists icon (![Lists icon]()).
3. Go to Job architectureRole groups.
4. Select New.
5. Either create your role group manually or by copying data from an existing group.

   | Copy the data from an existing role group | 1. Select From an existing role group. 2. Select the role group from the Select role group pop-up list. 3. 6. For the Add Role levels page, provide a job profile name, title, and job level for each role level in the role group  
   Role levels enable you to create a hierarchical structure to classify roles based on skills and proficiencies in your organization.
7. **Opcional:** Add more levels by selecting Add level.
8. Add relevant skills for the roles within this group.  
   Skills ensure alignment between required and desirable capabilities.
   1. Select a skill name from the Skill drop-down list.
   2. Determine the skill relevance by selecting High, Medium, or Low from the Skill relevance drop-down list.
   3. If the skill is required, select the Required check box.
   4. **Opcional:** To add more skills, select Add skills and provide details about the skill.

9. Add related role groups to enhance career progression and provide employee aspiration suggestions for this role group.
   1. Select a role group in the Role group field.
   2. Determine the type of relationship between the role groups by selecting a value in the Relationship type field.  
      * Bidirectional (between role groups)
      * Unidirectional (from newly created role group)
      * Unidirectional (to newly created role group)

   3. **Opcional:** Add more role groups either by selecting the role group directly or from suggested role groups.  
      * To add a role group directly, select Add group and provide details about the role group.
      * To add a role group from suggestions, select the Recommendations icon (![Recommendations icon]()) and select Add on the role group.

10. Select Submit.  
    Nota:  
    A new role group is created with all the data.

## Resultado

The new role group is opened in form view starting with the Skills matrix. You can see all the skills and role levels related to the role group. You can add more skills to the role group after it is created if necessary. For
