# Create a copy of work items in EAP Backlog

# Create a copy of work items in EAP Backlog {#ariaid-title1}

For creating work items with details similar to an existing item, save time and effort by creating a copy of the existing item.

## Before you begin

[Create work items for teams in EAP Backlog](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/~jdk9p9kUxiawEx_tetLgw "Create stories, features, epics, or capabilities for teams to add work to their backlog in Enterprise Agile Planning.").

Role required: sn_apw_advanced.eap_user

## Procedure

1. Navigate to WorkspacesStrategic Planning WorkspaceEnterprise Agile Planning.
2. From the Agile structure section of the left navigation panel, choose your EAP team.
3. From the Backlog page, locate the item that you want to create a copy of.
4. Select the more icon (![More icon.]()) and select Create copy.  
   Alternatively, you can right-click the work item to view the options.

## Result

A copy of the selected work item is created, with the information in the required fields copied over. This new work item is added to the same section as the original. For example, if you created a copy of a Story from the
Backlog section, then the copied story is added to the Backlog section.

## What to do next

From the full details page of the work item, you can refine the description with Now Assist. See . This feature requires activating the Write planning item skill of ServiceNow Otto for SPM.
