    Integrating Slack with Virtual Agent

You can integrate Slack with either the Now Virtual Agent bot or a self-configured bot. Proper integration is required to enable LLM-powered conversations with Now Assist. Specific guidance is available for both types of bots to connect with Slack workspaces.

Conversational Experience with Now Assist in Slack

    • Legal Disclaimer: Every conversation starts with a legal disclaimer indicating the AI-generated nature of the responses, followed by a greeting and available LLM-enabled topics. This message is configurable via the support-system-action property.
    • Pagination and Search: Users can navigate through multiple pages of selectable items or users using the Search bar and navigation buttons (More Options, Previous Options). This allows efficient filtering and selection within large datasets. Pagination behavior and limits are controlled by provider properties such as pickerpaginationexperiencesupported (enabled by default) and pickerpaginationlimit (maximum 100 items per page).
    • Generative AI QnA Card: Users can ask questions and receive AI-generated answers presented in a card format that includes a sparkle icon, legal disclaimer, and citation for the response source.
    • User Feedback: Slack users can provide quick feedback on AI-generated responses using thumbs up or thumbs down icons, helping to improve response quality.

The Legal disclaimer message is managed by the support-system-action provider property defined in the [sys_cs_custom_adapter_property] table. By default, the value of the provider property is set to true.
