Register for the Consumer Portal

  • Create a consumer account on the Consumer Portal to access self-service features, submit cases, and manage your profile.

    Before you begin

    Role required: none

    Ask your administrator to install the External User Registration plugin (com.sn_external_user_register) to view the Sign-up link on the Consumer Portal header.

    Procedure

    1. Go to the Consumer Portal.
      You can access the Consumer Portal using the URL, <servicenow instance URL>/consumer_portal. For example, https://example.com/consumer_portal
    2. Select Sign Up.
    3. On the registration form, fill in the fields.
      Field Description
      Email Address Your email address must be unique. If you enter an address that is already in the system, you receive an error message. Try again with a different email address.
      First Name Your first name.
      Last Name Your last name.
      Password This password must be:
      • Minimum of eight characters in length
      • Include at least one uppercase and one lowercase letter
      • Include at least one number
      Confirm Password Retype the password.
    4. Select the check box to agree to the privacy policy and to the community terms and conditions.
      Select the links to access more information about these policies.
    5. Select the reCAPTCHA verification check box.
      The Customer Service application uses the Google re-CAPTCHA service.
    6. Select Sign Up.
      A verification email is sent to the email address that you provided.
    7. Select the link in the email to verify your email address.

    Result

    Your registration is complete. You can log in to the Consumer Portal.
