Common Service Data Model framework for Install Base Management
The Common Service Data Model (CSDM) framework is a standard set of terms and definitions that you can adopt across all ServiceNow® products on the ServiceNow AI Platform. By using this framework, you can effectively track assets through their lifecycle transitions.
The CSDM is the data framework that you follow when you set up ServiceNow products and applications. You adhere to the CSDM guidelines when you define the configuration items (CIs) and the relationships between CIs in the CMDB. This process helps to ensure that your data resides in the appropriate CMDB tables so that you get the maximum value from your ServiceNow AI Platform applications. To learn about CSDM, see Common Service Data Model.
You can use a migration script to update the CSDM life-cycle values in the existing install base records. To learn about the migration script, see Synchronizing the install base life cycle fields with the state and status fields.
