Install base items

Create an install base item to track instances that have been provisioned for an account or consumer. An install base item can be any configuration item that has been made accessible to customers. For Software as a Service (SaaS) products, an install base item refers to an application service configuration item.

Import install base items with guided setup	Use guided setup to import install base items so that you can track instances that have been provisioned for an account or consumer.
Create an install base item	Create an install base item that represents the instance of the product that has been configured for a customer. The install base item enables you to track all the purchases that were made by a customer.
Associate multiple install base items to a case	Associate one or more related install base items to a case to access all the install base items that are associated to the parent install base item.
Install base characteristics	Configure characteristics of install base items to provide information about the service requirements and ensure timely maintenance services for the install base item.
