Location‑based holiday calendars helps to improve workforce scheduling by mapping holidays to specific regions, enabling managers to plan shifts with accuracy, and reduce manual adjustments.
Overview of location-based holiday calendar management:

The location‑based holiday calendar to support
varied work schedules and assign agents and technicians to shifts for defined time periods. The calendar provides fixed and variable schedules, including shifts that rotate weekly, monthly, or according to custom patterns. An agent
calendar administrator defines the calendar configuration, including individual user schedules and task visibility.

The automated conflict detection, the time zone holiday assignments, and the improved holiday visibility
across calendars assist the managers and agents to plan more effectively and reduce scheduling errors which helps to maintain operational consistency through a modern, intuitive
experience.
Scheduling Adjustments \& Conflict Management:

Managers and agents benefit from a system that automatically
adjusts or hides shifts falling on holidays, reducing manual intervention. They can receive real‑time warnings when creating, editing, or swapping shifts on holiday dates, ensuring conflicts are identified and resolved early. While
manual overrides remain available for special cases, proactive alerts and impact previews make conflict management clear, efficient, and
reliable.
Floating Time zone Support:

Floating time zone support ensures that holidays reflect each agent's local time zone.
When enabled, the system automatically applies holiday dates according to individual agent time zones, providing accurate scheduling for distributed teams. By enabling floating timezone, agents always see the correct holiday
information, and managers maintain visibility into holiday impacts across regions.

Holiday Visibility in
Calendars:

Managers and agents can easily view shifts and
holidays in unified team and personal calendars, with support for location-based filters. The system automatically removes holiday assignments when a location-level schedule is deleted, ensuring data remains accurate and schedules
stay consistent.

Location-based Holiday Calendar Management is supported by schema updates---including a new location field in the Location Schedule (sn_shift_planning_location_schedule) table---and
enhancements across APIs and UI components. The solution is optimized for performance, accessibility, and seamless integration with existing Workforce Optimization and Scheduling modules, ensuring a scalable and reliable
experience.
