# Generate summary and ask questions using Now Assist in Document Management {#ariaid-title1}

Generate summary and ask questions to gain quick insights from your documents by using Now Assist in Document Management.

## Vorbereitungen

Configure the smart document skill. For more information, see [Configure the Smart Documents Skill for Now Assist in Document Management](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/2D5PxaxO_B7jVlDGIa0Jig "Configure the Smart Document skill to get document insights through seamless conversational interactions by using Now Assist in Document Management application.").

Role required: sn_nowassist_admin.nsa_admin

## Prozedur

1. Navigate to your workspace.
2. In the list section, go to the table that has the smart documents skill activated and open the record.  
   For example, an incident record.
3. Open the attached document to view it in the document viewer.  
   Hinweis:  
   The maximum supported document size is 10MB and the page limit is 200 pages. Supported file types are pdf, docx, pptx, xlsx, doc, ppt, xls, jpeg, and png.
4. Ask questions and view common questions of the document by selecting Ask Now Assist.  
   The document insights is generated based on the question.
5. **Wahlweise:** Copy the response by selecting the copy icon ![copy icon]().  
   The responses are copied and can easily be shared across emails, reports, or collaboration tools.
6. **Wahlweise:** Provide feedback on whether the result is helpful or not by selecting the liked icon ![liked icon]() or the not liked icon ![not liked icon]().
