Important information for upgrading Platform Analytics experience to Australia

Before you upgrade to Australia, review these pre- and post-upgrade tasks and complete the tasks as needed.


Release	Release notes
Zurich	On upgrade, any homepages on your instance that have been opened are migrated to Core UI dashboards, which are visible in the dashboard library. For more information, see Homepage deprecation. Simple lists are all converted to the new List element on upgrade.
Australia	When upgrading, all Core UI reports and dashboards are identified as such in the library under the UI version column. Users can edit these legacy artifacts in the Report Builder and Dashboard Builder applications. Note: Users who have not migrated their instances to Platform Analytics experience have the option to create dashboards and data visualizations in either Core UI or Next Experience. Next Experience is recommended. After upgrading, the Analytics Hub isn't available. Links to the Analytics Hub are redirected to KPI Details.

New features

Between your current release family and Australia, new features were introduced for Platform Analytics experience.

Zurich	View, share, and export table records in the List component Take advantage of the improved list capabilities of the List element, which replaces List - Simple. The List supports pagination, export from dashboards, export to comma-separated values, and alternative group by. It also provides a consistent configuration experience with other data visualizations. Create indicators and migrate to data snapshots in the indicator library Manage indicators from the indicator library, including links to create and edit indicators. Activate data snapshots conveniently, opening up the possibilities of applying multiple levels of breakdown to your indicators. See statistics on recent views and updates in tiles. If data snapshots are activated for the instance, see how many indicators are eligible and have already had data snapshots enabled. Show columns for any field on indicator records, as well as usage information. Drill down to application overviews for Usage Insights Navigate to individual application overviews for Usage Insights from data visualizations. The Go to data view chart interaction is now supported for Usage Insights data and takes the viewer to these overview pages by default. Filter data in Usage Insights Filter Usage Insights data on default and custom Usage Insights properties.
Australia	Use new UI Builder templates for Dashboards and Data visualization libraries Create Dashboard and Data Visualization library pages within your workspaces in UI Builder by using new page templates. View usage information in the data visualization library As an analytics manager, view usage statistics in the data visualization library. Those statistics include the number of reports, data visualizations that aren't used in any dashboards, and the number of data visualizations not viewed for more than six months. Get recommendations to review problematic analytics resources As an analytics manager, view recommendations for which artifacts you should fix or delete in the Dashboard, Data Visualization, and Indicator libraries. Executive dashboards Use the new Executive Dashboards, which have been rebuilt using the Platform Analytics in-line dashboard capabilities. View data snapshot indicators in data visualizations Add indicators that are built from data snapshots sources to data visualizations.

Zurich	Select whether to drill down to Platform Analytics or Core UI lists Decide whether data view chart interactions for data visualizations on an instance drill down to Platform Analytics or Core UI record lists. This choice applies only on the Platform Analytics experience. View usage information in the dashboards library For analytics managers, the dashboard library now contains usage statistics, such as the number of dashboards not viewed in one year and the number of dashboards deactivated for more than three months. Export data visualizations from dashboards to PNG and JPEG Export individual data visualizations as a viewer to a graphic file. Platform Analytics experience is supported even when Next Experience UI is disabled You can migrate to Platform Analytics even if Next Experience isn’t enabled. Core UI dashboards are embedded in iframes. Migration Center changes Dashboard owners can perform partial migration on their own dashboards. Geomap migration supported. Interactive filter check box option. Export to CSV from lists is supported. Data visualizations and filters support Workflow Data Fabric tables Perform data analysis on external data fabric sources.
Australia	Manage Platform Analytics in the improved Analytics Overview page Quickly discover artifacts, access relevant information and key metrics, and take actions to manage the health of the library. The Analytics Overview page (formerly Analytics Center) acts as a one-stop shop and entry point for role-specific access to all important information related to Platform Analytics. Platform Analytics experience is enabled by default for all users on upgrade to Australia Create content entirely within Platform Analytics. Take role-based tours Role-based guided tours are added to the Platform Analytics Migration Center and the Dashboards and Data Visualizations library pages. Filter dashboards by string field values Filter data by the contents of string-type fields with a single-select or multiple-select filter. View the percentage each data segment contributes to the total Enable the Show % of total in tooltip option to show the percentage each data point contributes to the total alongside absolute values in the tooltip. Applies to time series, bar, bubble, donut, geomap, and heatmap visualizations. Explore native data snapshots indicators in KPI Details Employ intraday analysis with granularity based on work shifts. Customize score formatting options. Adjust breakdowns, calendar, and aggregation periods while exploring an indicator. Set up subscriptions for alerts on targets and thresholds directly from the targets and thresholds panels. Define hierarchical breakdowns with scores rolled up to parent elements. Create hierarchical filters for Industrial Connected Workforce indicators Create multilevel filters with roll-up aggregation across nested organizational structures, which moves from site, to plan, to department, to functional location. Download data visualizations as CSV or Excel files As a viewer, you now can download any data visualization, not only a List, as a CSV or XLS file. Automatically set the aggregation period of data snapshots indicator trend lines Set the Aggregation period field in the Trend by settings to Auto so , the system automatically selects the aggregation period of data snapshot indicator trend lines based on the date range and business calendar. Automatic aggregation of date-filtered data based on date range Filter dashboards by business calendar and have the system infer the appropriate aggregation level at runtime. If you put a time series data visualization on a dashboard with a date filter, the aggregation of shown data adjusts automatically depending on the selected date range. This adjustment applies to both table and data snapshots indicator data. Create custom data visualization filters with an improved condition builder When creating a data visualization for table data, you can create a custom filter when you specify the data source. The condition builder for the custom filter now has menus of fields, operators, values, and related tables. Hide the Refresh action on data visualizations In the Headers and Borders section of data visualizations, use the Show refresh option check box to hide the Refresh icon in the Configuration settings of data visualizations. Data visualizations on cached dashboards never have the Refresh icon. Migration Center enhancements As an analytics manager, migrate any Core UI dashboard to Platform Analytics in the Dashboard library. Edit migrated content before activating it in the Platform Analytics experience. Activate content selectively. Total views of Core UI reports and other widgets are now migrated along with the Core UI content. Dashboard element enhancements Moving and resizing dashboard elements no longer opens the configuration panel. Enhanced scheduled exports When scheduling the email of dashboards or data visualizations, limit recipients based on reference qualifiers.

Manage Performance Analytics indicators more conveniently, with access to editing, creation, and migration from within the Platform Analytics experience. Australia	Embed dashboards and visualizations directly in workspaces to see relevant KPIs where they act. Use a single, consistent visualization and filter model for table data, Performance Analytics indicators, Workflow Data Fabric, and UX analytics.
