## Summary of Video hosting integrations framework

The Video Hosting Integrations Framework in Content Publishing enables ServiceNow customers to connect their content management processes with external video hosting services.
This integration allows content managers to seamlessly incorporate hosted videos into microsites and news articles, enhancing the richness of published content.
It supports both public and private videos, depending on configuration.

## Key Features

* **Content Provider:** Identifies the video hosting service. ServiceNow provides an out-of-the-box provider called "other" for publicly available videos, allowing easy integration without additional setup.
* **Content Provider Mapping:** Links hosted videos to specific content types, currently supporting rich content and news articles, making videos accessible within these formats.
* **Content Processor:** Configures API interactions with the video hosting service using Flow Designer subflows. Includes two key actions:
  * **Authorize:** Allows employees to view private videos securely without sharing credentials.
  * **Search:** Adds a video thumbnail search button in the Rich Content Editor, simplifying video selection for content managers.
* **Content Rendering Parameter:** Customizes video playback experience through interface options in the Rich Content Editor, such as enabling fullscreen, autoplay, or setting start times.

## Configuration Steps

To enable video hosting integration, the following configurations are generally required:

* **Set up Content Providers:** Use out-of-the-box domains like YouTube, Vimeo, and Brightcove, or add new domains via the `glide.html.enablemediasites` system property.
* **Configure Content Provider and Mapping:** Optionally define mappings to associate video content with specific content types.
* **Configure Video Authorization:** Optional setup for accessing private videos securely.
* **Configure Video Content Search:** Optionally enable search functionality in the Rich Content Editor for easier video selection.
* **Configure Content Rendering Parameters:** Optionally customize how videos render within content using configurable player options.

## Benefits for ServiceNow Customers

This framework empowers content managers to efficiently incorporate hosted videos into their content without manual URL handling, supports secure access to private videos, and enhances user experience through customizable video playback controls. It streamlines the content authoring process by integrating with popular video platforms and providing intuitive management tools within the ServiceNow environment.
Connect Content Publishing with a video hosting service, to make the hosted videos available for content authoring and publishing.
Content Publishing offers content managers the ability to build content using videos from a video hosting service. The following components must be configured to add the video hosting service as an option in the Content library.
Note:
Depending on your organization, either the content admin or a third-party vendor performs these steps.

Content provider
: A content provider identifies the video hosting service.
: Content Publishing versions 33.0.9 and later include the out-of-the-box provider "other", which enables organizations to skip configuration. Content managers can use this provider to add publicly
available videos to microsites and news articles.

Content provider mapping
: Content provider mapping makes the hosted videos available to a specific content type. Currently, only the rich content and news articles content types are supported.
: Each content provider mapping is associated with a content provider and appears in the related list.

Content processor
: Content processors provide an interface to configure API calls to the video hosting service. They are powered by subflows from the Flow Designer. For more information, see [Building subflows](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/access?context=subflows&version=brazil&pubname=brazil-build-workflows&ft:locale=en-US).
: There are two actions available:

    * Authorize: enables employees to view private videos without providing credentials
    * Search: adds a button to the Rich Content Editor interface that enables a content manager to view thumbnails of available videos, instead of copy-pasting the video URL.
    {#content-providers__ul_xbb_nyp_lzb}
: Each content processor is associated with a content provider mapping and appears in the related list.

Content Rendering parameter
: A content rendering parameter functions similarly to video hosting URL parameters, allowing content managers to customize the viewer's experience through an interface element in the Rich Content Editor. Depending on the hosting
provider, this can include defining a checkbox for enabling full screen or autoplay, or a textbox for specifying the start time.
: Each content rendering parameter is associated with a content provider mapping and appears in the related list.

## Set up content providers {#content-providers__section_cvt_s1w_lzb}

The following process overview guides you through setting up content providers so content managers can use videos from video hosting services when assembling content.

1. The following domains are available out-of-the-box: youtube.com, player.vimeo.com, vimeo.com,players.brightcove.net, and brightcove.net. To configure an additional domain, the system admin must add the host domain to the
`glide.html.enable_media_sites` system property. For more information, see [Available system properties](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/access?context=r_AvailableSystemProperties&version=brazil&pubname=brazil-platform-administration&ft:locale=en-US)

2. [Configure content provider and mapping](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/HGTCJvkOgNg1Qg3eazhMDA "Connect a video hosting service to Content Publishing by configuring a content provider, then mapping the hosting service to specific content types, including rich content, news article, and styled content.")
3. (Optional) If the video hosting service contains private videos that require credentials, [Configure a video authorization](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/k~gy9VcSNws5F1aLPN7Ktg "Configure a content processor to enable employees to view private videos without providing credentials.")
4. (Optional) To provide content managers with an interface where they can select a video, [Configure video content search](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/UjkgteMFuDjqGgQutqFvPw "Configure a content processor to add a button to the Content Library interface that enables a content manager to view thumbnails of available videos from the content provider.")
5. (Optional) To add interface elements to the Rich Content Editor video picker, [Configure content rendering parameter](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/aLrodwZZonxpRJULJzCHwA "A content rendering parameter functions similarly to video hosting URL parameters, allowing content managers to customize the viewer's experience through an interface element in the Rich Content Editor. Depending on the hosting provider, this can include defining a checkbox for enabling full screen or autoplay, or a textbox for specifying the start time.")
