## Key Features

* **Breadcrumbs widget:** Displays the navigation path of pages visited, allowing users to easily return to previous pages by clicking any breadcrumb link.
* **Topic header widget:** Shows parent topics with descriptions, banners, and icons to provide context. It supports selection from a mega menu and can be customized through instance options.
* **Sub-topics widget:** Lists child topics connected to the parent topic, displaying only those with associated content. It shows up to six child topics by default, with an option to view all and select specific ones. This widget is configurable via instance options.
* **Topic content widget:** Presents knowledge articles and requests linked to the selected topic. Users can filter content by type (all, articles only, or requests only), sort by popularity or alphabetical order (note: A-Z sorting is not supported for non-English content), and toggle between card or list views. It displays up to 12 items by default, with a "Show more" option for additional items. Widget display is customizable.
* **Search capabilities:** Enhanced search on topic pages includes spell check, synonym detection, and auto-suggestions. Users can narrow results using hierarchical topic and sub-topic filters (facets) to find specific content efficiently.
* **Learning content integration:** Licensed employees can access and interact with learning materials on topic pages. The Unified Browse widget integrates courses into the filter options, allowing for browsing, filtering, sorting, and favoriting of relevant courses.

## Practical Use and Benefits

ServiceNow customers can leverage the Employee Center topic pages to create a seamless and intuitive employee self-service experience. The combination of navigation aids (breadcrumbs), topic hierarchy (header and sub-topics), and rich content presentation (knowledge, requests, learning) enables employees to find information and complete tasks quickly, reducing service desk workload and improving employee satisfaction.

Configurable widgets allow administrators to tailor the display and content organization to fit their organization's needs, ensuring the Employee Center aligns with specific HR and service delivery goals.

## Next Steps

* Configure widget instance options to customize the display of topic headers, sub-topics, and content lists based on your organization's requirements.
* Utilize the enhanced search with topic facets to enable precise content discovery for employees.
* Incorporate learning content within topic pages to provide comprehensive employee resources.
* Refer to related capabilities such as managing approvals, employee profiles, and personalized answers to extend the Employee Center's functionality.
The Employee Center topic pages contain the breadcrumbs widget, topic header widget, sub-topic widget, and the topic content widget.
