  • While topic managers control the topic level decisions, the contributors manage the connected content, quick links, adding applications, and featured content on the topic page.

Topic manager level permission works in a top-down manner. The managers can move, copy, or change any details on the topic pages they have been provided access to along with the sub-tree further down.

    Note:
    • Topic manager does not have permission to create a root topic.
    • Topic Manager cannot create or change user criteria, even for topics created by them, unless the manager has user_criteria admin role.
    • When the manager moves a topic from one parent to another, the topic loses any cascaded permission configuration and takes on the configuration of the new parent. However, it retains any changes made on a topic level, before the move.
    • If a topic is cloned or copied under a new parent topic, the topic loses all its previous permission configuration, both the cascaded ones and the ones made on the topic level.
    • The Topic manager user criteria can move topics between taxonomies if the manager has access to more than one taxonomy.
    • Topic manager can perform all the Topic contributor actions as well as managing and creating topics.

Topic contributor level has been introduced to manage all topic level tasks, such as, linking Connected content, Quick links, adding applications, and Featured content. Contributors also have a top-down access control. The user criteria only work further down the sub-tree from the topic that it has been added.
